Prof. Tao Yitao made remarks on how to foster people-to-people bond and deliver a strong performance for implementing the "Belt and Road" Initiative. She pointed out that for China and the countries along the the Belt and Road, the Initiative has a greater impact on culture than capital and attaches a greater importance to system than technology. The major problem confronting the implementation of the "Belt and Road" Initiative is lack of knowledge about the culture and customs of the countries along the Belt and Road. "To some extent, we haven't completely get rid of eagerness for quick success and instant benefits, resulting in acts intended to be kind and be beneficial to ourselves and pleasant to others became awkward in some countries. Prof. Tao Yitao believed that people-to-people bond is a relative concept and it's fundamentally about mutual understanding and tolerance instead of convergence. The people-to-people bond takes time to form and even needs a historical process.

Mr. Liu Boyong introduced that BRRIICD aims to create a new think-tank that is influential both at home and abroad with independent views, inclusive thoughts, academic openness and cultural awareness to serve the implementation of China's Belt and Road Initiative. With core competitive edges on promoting and replicating the successful experience and system in SEZs and FTZs, BRRIICD will promote the strategic industrial economy cooperation and build a private financing platform and system for the countries along the Belt and Road.

BRRIICD as an emerging force of private think-tank has aroused great interest among countries along the Belt and Road.

Speakers from all walks of life elaborated on the problems confronting the building of the Belt and Road at this stage and how to better advance the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. Guo Yezhou, vice minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and co-chairman of Silk Road Think Tank Association noted that against the backdrop of chaotic world situation, perplexity in development trend and lack of growth momentum, there is a long way to go in the building of the Silk Road Think Tank Association. Silk Road Think Tank Association shall continue its efforts in the following three aspects: First, provide political guidance as a think tank association. Second, make greater contribution to the building of "the Belt and the Road" in terms of intellectual support. Third, further optimize the operation model in terms of mechanism construction.

The conference aroused great concern and won coverage of mainstream media including People.cn, Xinhua News Agency, Economic Daily, Huanqiu.com, QQ.com and Sina.com.
