Director Tao Leads a Delegation of Young Entrepreneurs from SZU to Make a Charitable Donation to Takéo of Cambodia

    A Shenzhen delegation of Shenzhen Foundation’s Secretariat Department, Yupengnian Charity Foundation, a Shenzhen-based company D.Light, and young entrepreneurs from Shenzhen University (SZU) embarked on a visit to Cambodia from March 19 to 22, 2019 at the invitation of the Civil Society Alliance Forum (CSAF) of Cambodia. The delegation was headed by professor Tao Yitao, Director of the China Center for Special Economic Zone Research (CCSEZR) of SZU, President of the “Belt and Road” Institute of SZU, President of the Belt and Road Research Institute (Shenzhen) for International Cooperation (BRRIIC), and Vice President of Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation (SFIEC). The visit was on a mission to celebrate the 2nd session of “Lancang-Mekong Week” with a string of “Shenzhen x Lancang-Mekong Initiative” events.
    On the morning of March 20, Prof. Tao Yitao with Mr. Huang Shun, Chairman of the SZU Alumni Association, led a delegation of 20 young entrepreneurs from SZU to Takéo Province of Cambodia. The delegation attended the inauguration ceremony of a charitable donation with Kim Rithviseth, Chairman of CSAF, Pay Sambo, Secretary of CSAF, and LY SAVET, Takéo Deputy Governor and other relevant officials.

    At the event, Mr. Huang Shun, on behalf of the entrepreneur delegation, handed over the donation plan to Kim Rithviseth. The donation plan covers 100 computers, 50 sets of solar lamps, MP3 players and emergency power banks that the SZU Alumni Association donated to Takéo Province, with an aim to improve the educational environment and give children access to more and better educational resources.

    Chairman Kim Rithviseth extended his thanks to the delegation for their active efforts and selfless contribution in supporting the improvement of local people's livelihoods and in promoting “People-to-People Bond” initiative between Cambodia and China. He also indicated that Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, placed great emphasis on the implementation of the “Shenzhen x Lancang-Mekong Initiative” in Cambodia by instructing the CSAF in person to provide full assistance in carrying out related projects.

    In the end, Mr. Huang Wei, on behalf of the delegation of young entrepreneurs from SZU, signed a donation agreement with Takéo Province.

    Following the event, Prof. Tao Yitao led the delegation to inspect the site, extend their regards to the children present, and wish all of them to grow healthily and embrace a bright and infinite future!
