Prof. Yuan Yiming pointed out in his speech that industrial parks as an important carrier of economic development play a significant role in China's 40-year economic growth miracle. It is a Chinese path for economic growth and industrial development. The establishment and development of industrial parks can become a key development strategy choice for China’s economic take-off.
As for how these industrial parks drive economic development, Prof. Yuan Yiming believes that these parks have their own characteristics and rules of establishment and development. Their development is related to the economic system, the level of economic development and the industry categories, which need to be considered in making industrial park development strategies. It is equally important to effectively guide the evolution of the parks’ form and operation mode in the process of economic development so that the parks can play a role in promoting industrial upgrading and thus urban and regional sustainable development.
