Prof. Yuan Attends 3rd Global Education 50 Forum

       To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, summarize the experience of China’s education development, and explore global education innovation and the dynamics of the global education development, the third Global Education 50 Forum (GE50) was held by the GE50 Organizing Committee at the Southwest University on October 19, 2019. Themed with “70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and Global Education Innovation”, GE50 was hosted by the Southwest University, GE50, the Institute of Minsheng Economic Research, Tsinghua University and the International Center for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO, and was co-organized by the Institute for Contemporary China Studies and the Society & Finance Center of Tsinghua University, the Center for China and Globalization, the Capital Market Research Institute of the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, and the Academy of Deng Xiaoping’s Birthplace.      
 
       Striving to become an educational think tank with international influence, GE50 focuses on addressing key and front-burner issues, and challenges facing China’s education reform on a global scale and offers advices and suggestions to enhance China’s education leadership in the world. GE50, organized in the forms of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and summary reports, gathered many a leaders, university presidents, professors, experts and scholars working at the education forefront, and the theorists and practitioners from governments, international organizations, and think tanks who have long focused on Chinese education reform and world education development, to explore the global education innovation and China’s education outlook at this great opportunity of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
 
       Prof. Yuan Yiming, Deputy Director of the China Center for Special Economic Zone Research (CCSEZR), was invited to give a speech at the GE50 breakout session 2. Prof. Yuan said that China needs to align its educational development with the global education innovation and must foster innovative talented people by honing their “four abilities” regarding innovation, dedication, operation, and collaboration. The breakout session 2 was presided over by Wang Mingyi, President of Sichuan Normal University.
