In an effort to reinforce the Party's leadership and comprehensively integrate Party building work with teaching and research undertakings, and in accordance with the actual requirements of work development, upon the submission of a request by the Party Committee of the School of Economics and the subsequent approval from the Party Committee of Shenzhen University, the election conference of the General Party Branch Committee of the Research Center for China's Special Economic Zones of Shenzhen University was convened at noon on October 31, 2025, in Room H1 - 502 of Huiwen Building.
The conference was chaired by Comrade Zhang Ying, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics. For this conference, 60 full Party members were supposed to attend. Five were absent due to illness or personal matters, and 55 full Party members were actually present. The number of attendees meets the requirement that no fewer than four-fifths of the required members be present, thus complying with the specified quorum.
The conference commenced with the solemn playing of the national anthem. Subsequently, all Party members deliberated and voted on the following items in sequence: the list of Party members who would not be counted in the expected number of attendees, the electoral regulations for the General Party Branch Committee election conference of the Research Center for China's Special Economic Zones of Shenzhen University, as well as the list of the chief teller, tellers, chief counters, and counters. Comrade Zhang Jianhua, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics, served as the chief teller, and Comrade Chen Kai, a member of the Party Committee and the Vice Dean of the School of Economics, was appointed as the chief counter.
During the conference, 5 members of the General Party Branch Committee of the "Center" were elected. In the order of the number of strokes of their surnames, they are: Yi Zelong, Li Fan (female), Li Tong, Chen Hongquan, and Zhou Yikun.
Following the conclusion of the conference, the General Party Branch Committee of the "Center" held its first plenary meeting. During this meeting, Professor Yi Zelong, the Director of the Research Center for China's Special Economic Zones, was elected as the Secretary of the General Party Branch Committee, and Comrade Chen Hongquan from the Research Center for China's Special Economic Zones was elected as the Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch Committee.
Following the conclusion of the conference, the General Party Branch Committee of the "Center" held its first plenary meeting. During this meeting, Professor Yi Zelong, the Director of the Research Center for China's Special Economic Zones, was elected as the Secretary of the General Party Branch Committee, and Comrade Chen Hongquan from the Research Center for China's Special Economic Zones was elected as the Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch Committee.
