China Special Economic Zone Research Center held a general meeting of faculty and staff

On May 29, the China Special Economic Zone Research Center held a general meeting of faculty and staff. Professor Chao Naipeng, Vice President of Shenzhen University, Professor Zeng Xianju, Director of the Department of Social Sciences, Professor Tao Yitao, senior professor of liberal arts and leader of theoretical economics at Shenzhen University, Zhang Ying, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics, and some members of the leadership team of the School of Economics attended the meeting, and all teachers of the center participated in the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Director Zeng Xianju of the Department of Social Sciences of Shenzhen University. Zeng Xianju read the school's appointment document, appointing Professor Yi Zelong as the director of the China Special Economic Zone Research Center of Shenzhen University, and introduced Yi Zelong's basic situation.

Professor Tao Yitao reviewed her experience as the director of the center and the academic brand she led the center's colleagues to create. She hoped that the center would maintain academic heritage and continue to highlight the characteristics and advantages of "special zone research". She said that in the future, as the leader of the theoretical economics discipline, she will continue to contribute to the development of the discipline.

Director Yi Zelong expressed his gratitude for the trust of the school and the support of the teachers of the center. In the face of new opportunities and challenges, he proposed three plans: first, to gather strength, work together, and promote coordinated development; second, to strengthen disciplines, cultivate talents, and lay a solid foundation for development; third, to focus on key points, create characteristics, and impact higher platforms.

In his concluding speech, Vice President Chao Naipeng highly affirmed the remarkable achievements and unique contributions made by Professor Tao Yitao's leadership team in discipline construction, talent training, scientific research, and international exchanges during his tenure as director of the center, and placed high hopes on the new director. It is hoped that the center, as a key research base for humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, will closely focus on national strategic needs, deepen research on special economic zones, condense distinctive advantages, expand international vision, strengthen think tank functions, create a new situation of high-quality development, and make greater contributions to the school's double first-class construction. He hopes that Tao Yitao, as a senior professor of liberal arts at Shenzhen University, will continue to contribute to discipline construction and development as a leader in theoretical economics in the future. Finally, President Chao presented flowers to Professor Tao Yitao on behalf of the school, and expressed his respect for Professor Tao Yitao's long-term contributions to Shenzhen University and the China Special Economic Zone Research Center.
